REF DHR1 George York [sic. ?] was known
as the "meanest man in town". He owned a bakery in Lewison, ME.
[The baker was definitely Cyrus L. York. I believe George W. York
was his son. I'm not sure which of them were the meanest man
in town. I always think of bakers as being quite jolly.
George W. York, on the other hand, was apparently divorced or separated
from his wife. - pbm]
REF AuburnD1893. In 1893, the bakery was at 178 Court Street.
