According to "Historical Markers of Milford, Locations and Inscriptions," 1990:

On the front lawn of the Toulson Building, West River St, Milford, there is a rock with a plaque: "Near this site stood the home of Jonathan Law, Governor and Deputy Governor of Connecticut, 1714-1750."

Across the street from the intersection of North and River Street, there is a tall monument:

"Robert Treat - born 1622 - Died 1710. A founder of Milford - Served the colony of Connecticut for 32 years. Deputy Governor 1676-1683. Governor 1683-1698. Deputy Governor 1698-1708. Led a company to New Jersey, Founded Newark, 1665-1672. Returned to Milford and commanded Connecticut troops in King Philip's War. Governor when Sir Edmund Andros demanded charter which was not surrendered but was hidden in an oak tree.

Jonathan Law - Born 1672 - Died 1750 Served the colony of Connecticut for 25 years. Deputy Governor 1725-1742. Governor 1742-1750.

Charles Hobby Pond - Born 1781 - Died 1861 Served the colony of Connecticut for 3 years. Deputy Governor 1852-1853. Governor 1853-1854.

This bridge dedicated on the 300th Anniversary of the settlement of the town of Milford.

A memorial to three Milford men who were governors of the colony and of State of Connecticut."

In Milford Cemetery, 38 paces northeast of Capt. Allen's grave, is the grave of Jonathan Law: "Jonathan Law, Governor of the Colony of Connecticut 1741-1750. He was born at Milford August 6, 1672, where he died November 6, 1750."
