PA; dated 16 Feb. 1827, prob. 23 Aug. 1827; being somewhat indisposed in body; to wife Jennet the use of the dwelling house both above and below for life and 1/2 the garden and part of the spring house for her milk, and two of her choice bedsteads, half the grain that would come to me from the tenant yearly and also $15 in cash yearly for life, and the bald horse & colt and cows, etc., and to [my wife the use of] Susana Campbell during the time of her indenture, furniture, $50 of the Huntingdon Bank Stock with interest, etc.; to Nancy Fiagarty a cow, and 6 sheep if there be so many of her mark alive; to Samuel Edie Kyle Duncan $200 to be paid to his guardian for his use four years after my decease, and to said Samuel my watch; to my dutiful daughter Nancy Kyle alias Nancy Buchanan for use and benefit of her legal heirs the 1/2 remaining part of my real and personal property after above bequests are fully satisfied; to my said daughter Nancy 1/2 of the remainder of the Huntington Bank Stock, 1/2 my part of the Indiana and Cambria Turnpike stock and 1/2 of a tract of land in Indiana Co. and 1/2 what money is due by James Richard of Armstrong Co. or otherwise if not paid the half of said tract purchased by him from me, and to said dau.       Y-197/199: Robert Duncan's Executrix to David Stoler. 2 June 1833, from Ellen Duncan of Borough of Carlisle in Cumberland Co. PA, sole and only executrix of will of Robert Duncan late of the Borough of Killaning in Armstrong Co. PA, by John Stewart her attorney in fact, appointed by letter of attorney 18 October 1830, to David Stoler of Hopewell? Twp. in Bedford Co. PA; that John Penn and Richard Penn Esq. by deed 8 April 1803 by their attorney John R. Coats Esq. granted the said Robert Duncan a tract of land then situate and supposed to be in the County of Huntingdon now situate in Bedford Co. PA, being part of the proprietor's manor of "Highlands" containing 475 acres 135 perches and also a certain other part of the said manor "Highlands" containing 142 acres 7 perches; that the said Robert Duncan in his lifetime by article of agreement between him and the said David Stoler 19 March 1804 agreed to sell to David Stoler a certain part of the said manor of "Highlands" conveyed to the said Robert Duncan, supposed to contain by certain corners and distances 145 acres and 109 perches but which is now ascertained to contain in the said distances and boundaries 152 acres and 12 perches and allowance, and David Stoler has since occupied and had in his possession at the price of $2.50 per acre; NOW the said Ellen Duncan as executrix by her attorney in fact, and in consideration of the sum of $196 paid by the said David to the said Robert Duncan in his lifetime in account of said contract, and the further sum of $100 like money paid by the said David in 1818 to James Duncan who was surety of the executors of the said Robert Duncan deceased, and the further sum of $335.88 paid by the said David Stoler to the said Ellen Duncan, the said Ellen Duncan, sole executrix of the will of Robert Duncan having died in the year 1807, grant to David Stoler all that parcel in Hopewell Twp, Bedford Co., being part of the said manor of "Highlands" containing 152 acres and 12 perches, as agreed, adj. land of Samuel Broade?, crossing a road, lands of Abraham Kerns, lands of John Stoler, ... her the said Ellen Duncan as widow and relict of the said Robert Duncan, deceased, ... /s/ Ellin Duncan by her attorney in fact John Stewart.       Applied 14 April 1818; age 66, of Henderson Twp, Huntingdon Co. PA; enlisted 1776 as private in Capt. William Heiser's Co. in German Battalion under Col. Hooseacre and Lt. Col. Hasker; in winter quarters at the Valley Forge; served 3 years; discharge lost when he was removing from Frederick Town to Kragers Town in MD.
      Statement 16 Aug. 1820; original pension #2909; age 67; blacksmith; wife Temperance aged 55 years; now farming on a place rented upon shares (1/3 to landlord) by himself but crops are small & not adequate for support of himself & wife. Statement 16 Aug. 1820 by John Shorthill, acquaintance. Owes Joseph Dorland, Henry Clapbough, John Yoaun?, Peter Hess, Alexander McCall, Alexander McConnell, Samuel Steel, Stewart Steel, William Corben, John Fee, C. Garber, Wm.       Applied 14 April 1818, age ca 64, in Huntingdon Co. PA, of Hopewell Twp; served 1776 in 7th MD Regt. under Capt. Bettis for over 7 years; his discharge was washed in the pocket of his overalls about 3 months after he received it; statement by James Duncan of Huntingdon Co. PA for Robert's enlistment in Fredericktown, MD in Aug. 1776; statement by David Stewart who knew Robert for some years. Statement 16 Aug. 1820, his family consists of wife Margaret, age ca 50. Letter 24 May 1844, two of four children (unnamed) were paid pension from 4 Sept. 1838 to 26 April 1839.
