Found the following article clipped from an Athens Texas paper dated July 22 1941 Chandler Texas: Five members of the Boyd family who had not met since their father died in 1878 gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Boyd in reunion here on July 16th. Members of the immediate family present were Luvy D. Boyd, Chandler, Route 1; Robert A Boyd, Winnsboro; Frank L Boyd, Chandler; Joe B (this is George my grandfather) Boyd Chandler; Mrs. Mollie Smith, Houston, Miss. and Will R. Boyd of Sanatorium, Texas. Children, grandchildren and friends attending the reunion included Mr. and Mrs Jasper Boyd and daughters, Misses Annette and Joe Ann, of Noonday; Mr. and Mrs George Murphey of Delta; Mr. and Mrs. Ira Boyd, three daughters and one son, Misses Alvlee, Jeannette, Billie Jean and Larry; County Attorney Harry Boyd and wife of Athens; Mrs. Dewie Neill and daughter, Janas Joe, of Martin Springs; Mrs Joe Boyd, Miss Bessie Boyd and Mrs. Frank Boyd. A bountiful dinner was spread under the large oaks on the Frank Boyd farm and the day was a very happy one. The brothers and sisters, all of whom are now well along in years, spent the day recounting their earlier experiences and lived again the youthful days in memory. The family were born in Alabama but their parents moved to Mississippi when the children were about grown. Bob Boyd came to Texas and was followed by Joe and Frank and later Luvy and family. The two sisters remained in Mississippi. The oldest Mrs. Eliza Hill died twelve years ago. Mrs. Mollie Smith, who is now visiting in Texas with her brothers, still retains her home near Houston, Mississippi. The reunion was a great occasion and one that will long be remembered. Many of the children of the brothers and also grandchildren were unable to be present on account of sickness and other causes. Notes:
