SCMAR, Vol I, Winter 1973, No.1, p.11
Nuncupative will of John Alston. 2 June 1787. John Alston desires that
his children should all have an equal proportion of his land, except his
oldest son Samuel, who should have his choice of the division a little
better than the rest, as James Brown and ROBERT BOYD, whom he desires to
take the managing of said estate, shall think proper. His moveables
should remain in his widow's hands as long as she continues  a widow.
Mr. James Mann, MR WILLIAM BOYD Junior, and Mrs. Jenny Brown,being
present when said words were spoken by said Mr. Alston on his deathbed
and in his own house, personally appeared and made oath to the foregoing
on June 16, 1787, before James Craig,J.P.  Aug.1787, Letters of
Executorship granted to James Brown and ROBERT BOYD, who took the oath
prescribed.

Will of Hugh McMaster, late of the parish of Ballymoney in the County of
Antrim and Kingdom of Ireland, now at this present writing a passenger
on board the Friendship of Greenork in North Britain, Capt. Adam Cowear,
bound for Charleston, S. C., last from Larne in the County of Antrim,
being afflicted in my body, appointing Hugh McMullen and James Killoch
now passengers on said vessel the Friendship my sole executors

and 45 pounds of linnen, and in the hands of MARY BOYD in Long Cane
Settlement 19 yards of linnen, these I give to the same James Killoch my
