William J. Boyd- 1895-1988

William J. Boyd, 93, formerly of 10 Clay St., Dansville, died Friday (June 10, 1988) in the Livingston County, New York.
 
He was born in Belfast, Ireland,  the son of Alexander and Mary Begg Boyd. 
He was married for 57 years to Gladys A. Morris, who died in 1978. 

Mr. Boyd lived in the Dansville area most of his life.  He was afarmer and was employed at the Dansville plant of Foster Wheeler Energy for more than 20 years prior to his retirement in 1960. 

He was an avid hunter and gardener, known in the area for growing gladioluses. He was a member of the Dansville Presbyterian Church and the Powers Inn Club. 

Survivors include three sons, Donald and Clyde Boyd, both of Dansville, and William Boyd of Detroit, Michigan, three daughters, Mary Sauerbier of Dansville, Sarah Jean McKay of Hudson, OHio, and Joyce Mothorpe of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Agnes Henry of Belfast, Ireland; 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

The Rev. James Bender officiated at a funeral service conducted Monday at the Hindle Funeral Home in Dansville.  Burial was in Union Cemetery, Scottsburg.
