MCLEAN/BOYD - LOUISA CO; IOWA
William Wilson was born in
Ireland on the 4th of May 1849, the son of
John and Maria (COURTNEY)
WILSON, also natives of Ireland, born in
County Armagh. They emigrated
to the U.S. in 1874, first locating in
Louisa Co where they farmed
until 1886 when they retired and moved to
Muscatine. Mrs Wilson died
15 November 1901, and Mr Wilson d. 7 October
1907. Four children were in
the family, the others were: Robert; John
C.; and Elizabeth, m. John
C. Neil, a farmer in Kansas.
On the 2 March 1875, Mr Wilson
married Anna MCLEAN, the daughter of John
W. and Fannie (PRESTON) McLean,
natives of Catlettsburg, Ky. The father
was killed in the Civil War.
Three children were born to the MCLEANs:
NORA, m. JOHN BOYD, Mrs Wilson
and one whose name is unknown. Mr and
Mrs Wilson had two daughters:
Elizabeth m. W.E. McDaniel, of
Minneapolis, MN; and May.
