Mrs. ETHEL (BOYD) NEWALLIS one of San Francisco's most active club and
civic and social workers. She is a native daughter of San Francisco. Her
parents are JAMES T. JR., and EMILY ELIZABETH (LUM) BOYD. Her father's
uncle, JAMES T. BOYD, was the first president of the Pacific Union Club
of San Francisco. Her grandfather, ALEXANDER BOYD, was one of the
pioneer lawyers of San Francisco.

and left Oregon City,September 23, 1853. My party consisted of A. M.
Addington and Granville Blake, chainmen, and JOHN E. BOYD and Joseph
Hawkins. All were from the western states.
